Visa Application Update May 10!

Taiwan is an island in East Asia and is also commonly used to refer the territories administered by the Republic of China (ROC), a state which governs the island of Taiwan . When you apply for a visa to Taiwan , please find Taiwan or Republic of China Embassy. This embassy is different from China embassy.

Type 1: Visa-Exempt Entry

Countries eligible for Visa-exempt entry:
Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, *Japan, Malta, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. and U.S.A.
Requirements:
1.a passport with validity of at least six months after entry .(*Japanese Citizen is entitled to validity of passport at least three months under same other requirements)(unless otherwise stipulated by treaty or agreement) .
2.a confirmed return air ticket or an air ticket and a visa for the next destination, and a confirmed seat reservation for departure.
3.no criminal record.
Duration of stay:
30 days, The 30 days' duration of stay starts from the next day of arrival and is not extendable.

Type 2: Landing Visas
Countries eligible for Landing Visas:
1.Nationals of Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovak
2.Holders of USA passport with validity less than six months*
Requirements:
1.a passport valid for at least six months.
2.a confirmed return air ticket or an air ticket and a visa for the next destination, and a confirmed seat reservation for departure.
3.fill out an application form with two photos.
4.visa fee of NT$ 1,200 (citizens of countries with reciprocal agreements shall be issued visas gratis) plus a handling fee of NT$ 800; For U.S. citizens: see remarks 2.
5.no criminal record.
Duration of stay:
30 days which starts from the next day of arrival and is not extendable.
Ports of entry:
C.K.S. International Airport (Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport)
Method of Lodgement
Passengers entering the Republic of China through the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airportmay apply for a landing visa at the Visa Office of Consular Affairs Bureau at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Remarks
* Holders of USA passport with validity less than six months
1.Passengers shall apply for a visa at Taiwanese Overseas Missions and be charged a special handling fee of equal amount US$100¡]NT$3,600¡^.
2.Passengers who apply for visas upon arrival at the ports of entry in the Taiwan shall be charged a special handling fee of equal amount US$100¡]NT$3,600¡^plus an additional fee of US$24¡]NT$800¡^.A single entry visa of which duration of stay is no more than 30 days may be granted.

Type 4:
If you couldn't find an embassy in your country, you might probably be one of the following countries. There are two options for you to choose, first you may apply for a landing visa through the Reception Committee, or you may visit the nearest Taiwanese Embassy in other countries (but we would need to send you an official certification from Ministry of Foreign Affairs Taiwan). (Yes it is a bit complicated, but please feel free to ask us if you have any questions.)
Countries Without Taiwan Embassy
Armenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Egypt, Estonia, Ghana, Kenya, Kosovo, Macedonia, Mozambique, Montenegro, Nepal, Romania, Rwanda, Slovenia, Sudan, Tanzania,Bosnia-Herzegovina, Lithuania, Serbia and Montenegro

Visa sorts (There is a map of visa application from our Ministry of foreign affairs)

1.      For countries with Taiwanese Embassy:

Please take the invitation letter we sent by airmail (applicants will be receiving the invitation letters within few weeks) to the embassy and apply for the visa. If you encounter any difficulties during the process, please do not hesitate to write to us. 

2.      For countries without Taiwanese Embassy:

There are two ways of getting your visa

a.      Travel to the nearest country with the embassy—the RC would definitely recommend you visit the embassy. This is the safest way of receiving the visa without any risks. 

b.      Landing visa— this type of visa is mainly for those who are not able to travel to other countries to apply visa. The RC will can apply the landing visa for you here in Taiwan, however you must complete the registration of the congress and confirm the flight information for your visit. (The flight information cannot be changed once you apply for the visa). The RC does not recommend the delegates to apply for the landing visa, however if there are no other options, please go to the link below for further information.

3.      Guarantee-required countries: 

  • Afghanistan, Algeria, Bhutan, Cambodia, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Laos, Somalia, Syria, Bangladesh, Burma/Myanmar, Nigeria, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan Cameroon, Democratic People's Republic of Korea

The delegates from countries above require a Taiwanese citizen to be the guarantee for your entrance and stay in Taiwan.  The RC members will be your guarantee, there is a citation from our government which give specific details and countries are involved,
please go check.

   There are two ways for the delegates from these countries to obtain Taiwanese visa:

     a.      Apply at the Taiwanese Embassy within your country or countries nearby:

     b.      Apply for Landing Visa through RC: The procedure is the same with other
     countries.

    Both need to fill out the same form of landing visa and send it to :weichin0326hotmail.com

    We are putting extra attention to the delegates from these countries, and we will inform you
    with further information, however please contact us if you have any problems.
